The movie, Melancholia is not a happy movie, but it is an incredibly accurate one. Besides its name, the movie portrays melancholia, a form of depression, on many levels. The main character, Justine, not only suffers from melancholia, but the entire story depicts how someone suffering from melancholia feels – being pulled down, feeling like you can’t move, the end of the world. The movie also brilliantly displays how many people around the person suffering from depression don’t understand it and expect the sufferer to simply snap out of it.
If you or someone you know suffer from depression, educate yourself on depression and seek help from a Cognitive Behavior Therapist. It is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.
