Sometimes, the best you can pull off is a box of low-sodium boxed soup.
I’m not going to tell you, “you’re a big loser”, “you got it wrong”, “that isn’t perfect, so you failed”, “how dare you NOT cook a fresh meal after <insert whatever happened that day.>” On days like this, grab some low-sodium boxed soup and throw in some fresh or frozen vegetables, if you like.
Count your win. You planned enough to have that box of soup sitting in the pantry and with the frozen vegetables you tossed in, you’re killing it tonight!
There are all sorts of ways to have a backup plan for meals:
- Low-sodium boxed soup
- Packaged (frozen or fresh) meal ready to reheat
- Prepared homemade meals, made on an easier going day, and frozen for you’re rockin’ success tonight
- And some nights there will be Panera, Chinese food from that non-MSG place, or whatever you decide is the best you can do.
Only you walk in your shoes. Only you know your limits. It’s okay to give yourself a break and call that a success.
What backup meal plans do you keep up your sleeve keep winning?
