The body uses the Stress Response to boost adrenaline and other chemicals needed to say, get us out of the way of an oncoming train; however in today’s society, many of us are faced with stressors throughout the larger part of the day. The Relaxation Response is an effective way to combat and reverse the effects of the Stress Response. While the Stress Response raises blood pressure and might leave you clenching your teeth and angry, the Relaxation Response techniques lower blood pressure and prepares you to handle situations calmly, maybe even with a smile.
